A safe place

On the verge of big changes, Ashley Tyree finds solace in the classroom.

In a purple psychedelic shirt with a kitten decal, high school choir director Ashley Tyree coaches teenagers over the cacophony of laughter and song. But a death in the family and health scares have Ashley looking at life differently. After three decades of teaching, Ashley wonders if educating is his biggest accomplishment, or if there’s another path to follow, another song to sing.
